Axigen Internal DomainKeys Services

Starting with Axigen 7.5 the DomainKeys services are incorporated in Axigen service itself. Support for the DomainKeys through the 'axigenfilters' service has been removed starting with Axigen 7.6.

Therefore, it isn't necessary to start the 'axigenfilters' service anymore for benefiting from DomainKeys services.

In order to use the internal DomainKeys services, SMTP filtering rules will need to be configured in your Axigen configuration for using DomainKeys signing and verifying.

Solution

Using the Axigen WebAdmin interface, the SMTP filtering rules for DomainKeys filtering can be added in Security & Filtering -> Acceptance & Routing -> Advanced Settings -> click Add Acceptance / Routing Rule.

To enable DomainKeys signing, you need to proceed with the following rule settings:
  • Write a suggestive Rule name;
  • Leave Conditions to Match any email message;
  • From the Actions drop-down list, select DK Key Path and click Add Action;
  • Write the path to your private key in the DK Key Path field;
  • From the Actions drop-down list, select DK Selector and click Add Action;
  • Write your domain's DomainKeys selector in the DK Selector field;
  • From the Actions drop-down list, select Sign Domain Key and click Add Action;
  • Click Save Configuration to save the filtering rule.

To enable DomainKeys verifying, you need to proceed with the following rule settings:
  • Write a suggestive Rule name;
  • Leave Conditions to Match any email message;
  • From the Actions drop-down list, select Check Domain Key and click Add Action;
  • Click Save Configuration to save the filtering rule.

The rules above also apply for DKIM signing and verifying, but with the actions that correspond to the DKIM method; i.e: DKIM Key Path, DKIM Selector and Sign DKIM is used for signing and Check DKIM is used for verifying.
